INDIANAPOLIS – Using a devastating Pedigree, WWE Champion Triple H toppled his largest opponent ever – the 7-foot, 3-inch, 420-pound Great Khali – to retain his title at the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer.
In their first-ever match, The Game and the Punjabi Giant exchanged a series of attacks with one goal in mind – the WWE Championship.
In the weeks leading up to SummerSlam, both Superstars made their intentions known in encounters on SmackDown – neither was backing down from the other.
First, The King of Kings took on The Great Khali in a risky Indian Broken Glass Arm Wrestling Contest. But before a winner could be determined, the Punjabi Giant head butted the champion and crushed his head with an overpowering Vise Grip. Then, just one week later on SmackDown, the two clashed again with The Game knocking the giant off of his feet and out of the ring. In both SmackDown encounters, The Game failed to lock The Great Khali in the Pedigree.
But at SummerSlam, The King of Kings was able to battle back from sessions in the Khali Vise Grip and a vicious Khali Chop to apply his signature move and pick up the victory and retain the gold.
Since coming to SmackDown from Raw via the 2008 WWE Draft, Triple H has rocked Edge’s world with hidden video footage of the Rated-R Superstar. And now, The Game has defeated the 420-pound Punjabi Giant. Who or what can stop The King of Kings?
