Despite the obstacles presented by World Heavyweight Champion Edge and his fiancée, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero prior to his draft onto Monday Night Raw, Batista continues to stand tall, and now has a chance at the gold.
The Animal defeated The Great Khali on SmackDown to solidify his position as the No. 1 contender at Night of Champions, just one week after a triumphant victory in an uneven Eight-Man Tag Team Match to earn the golden opportunity. Will The Animal go all the way at Night of Champions and reclaim the championship?
Batista’s competition is the Ultimate Opportunist, who recently carried out a hellish plan when he & his bride-to-be banished Undertaker from WWE. Even with Batista being no longer part of the SmackDown roster, there is no telling what the pair could have planned for The Animal. Will it be enough to stop him in his tracks or will The Animal continue to fight the odds?
Don’t underestimate the Rated-R Superstar, a three-time World Heavyweight Champion, who has the savvy to do whatever it takes to keep the gold around his waist. Edge also has “The Family” to back him up, not to mention the powerful General Manager of SmackDown, who could use her influence to sway the odds at Night of Champions.
Judging by the rage Batista has unleashed recently on Shawn Michaels, The Great Khali and “The Family,” Edge needs to be ready for almost anything, especially since The Animal has proven he is most dangerous when he is backed into a corner.
